About the Artist - Chun Hui Pak

I came to the USA from Seoul, Korea.   My study of Fine Arts began at Indiana University,
then later at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago where I received a Bachelor of Fine
Arts degree and still later at the Yale University School of Art where I received a Master of Fine
Arts degree.  I later extended my studies to Digital Art and Print making at the Center for
Creative Studies in Detroit.

As an oil painter with printmaking skills, I create stimulating and thought-provoking artworks
that win accolades, grants and awards most notably the“Creative Artists Grant” from ArtServe
Michigan: an Alliance for Arts Education, Artists, Volunteers and Cultural Advocacy in State
of Michigan; the award for “Best of Show”at the Michigan Fine Arts Competition; the Curator's
Award for artistic excellence from the MicroMuseum of Art in New York City, and the recent
honor of being named to the
Austin-American Statesmen's Austin360 Artist "A" List for the
artworks I exhibited during
E.A.S.T. 2009.  I was also among a fortunate few selected for an
interview by PBS station KLRU during
E.A.S.T. 2010.  To see that interview, please click on the
